Wet Plant
The proper design of the wet plant is essential to the success of the overall operation. Consistent feed is of paramount importance; therefore, care must be taken to create a system that reduces the variability in the material feed, and the process water. The wash plant should beneficiate the deleterious materials from the sand, separate the major size distribution groups, and provide a uniform feedstock for the dryer. The ultra fine materials are typically sent to a mechanical thickener, and often to presses, or settling ponds. Creating a system to manage this waste stream is often overlooked and should be addressed in the initial plant design.
